21 July 2026 update: Gym refurbishment project to proceed
The Lyneham High School gymnasium refurbishment project will proceed, with $5.746 million allocated to upgrade and modernise the gym.
Following consideration of community feedback and a report from the Legislative Assembly Inquiry into E-Petition 007-25, the ACT Government has decided to proceed with its commitment to refurbish the current gymnasium. This decision provides certainty for the school community and allows the project to move forward.
What happens next?
- A contractor will be appointed to design and deliver the works.
- A project delivery timeline and the design will be shared with the school community.
- There will be further engagement with the school and school community.
The refurbishment will deliver enhanced gym facilities that will benefit students, staff and the broader community for years to come.
