Curriculum at Lyneham High School
At Lyneham High School all students study a full year of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) and Health & Physical Education (HPE). In years 7 and 8 all students also study a Language (French or Indonesian).
Year 7 students study term-length subjects in the Arts and Technology. Many students study Band and they do this across a split line. Those who do not study Band also have a split line, but have this across other Arts or Technology subjects.
In year 8 students have the opportunity to select from a range of elective subjects in the Arts, Technology and Health & Physical Education and must continue to study a Language.
In years 9 & 10 students are able to select from an even wider range of elective subjects. The available elective subjects change slightly from year to year depending on the interests of the students and the available teachers and facilities
