Financial Contributions
Although the school is Government funded, it depends heavily on fund-raising by the parent body. The level of contributions is set by the School Board. The School can only offer courses according to the resource  (human, structural and financial) available. It is only possible to run courses with high practical and other costs if parents make financial contributions towards their courses.

Contribution requests are kept at the lowest possible level, all parents who contribute are assisting in maintaining their children’s education at the standards desired by the community. Parental contributions made early in the year, enables the purchase  of texts, library books, sports equipment, sports team uniforms, science requisites, craft materials and machinery, teaching aids and printed materials for use for the whole year.

Each semester parents receive their detailed account showing voluntary financial contributions and fees, if applicable.  These contrubitions are able to be paid at the Front Office between 8.30am until 2.30pm during the school day.

Payments can be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card.(phone payment facilities are available).

Tax deductable payment  for voluntary contributions ONLY can also be made to the Library Trust Fund, if requested, at the time of payment.

As family circumstances can change dramatically from year to year, we ask parents to contact the Front Office each year if they are unable to make a financial contribution.

Section 27 of The Education Act 2004 states that:

  • each contribution must be voluntary
  • a child will not be refused benefits or services if you do not choose to contribute
  • a child is not harassed for contributions
  • any record of contributions is confidential
The school may offer or facilitate some specific optional items, activities and services for which parents may be required to pay if they want their child to access them.  These are are included in Schedule One of the Department of Education and Training's Statement on Requesting Contributions from parents, which can be found at http://www.det.act.gov.au/policies.htm
